THE HUMAN BODY AND MASSAGE

The musculoskeletal system is complex so total equilibrium and synergy is required for optimal function and performance. External and internal forces such as gravity, stress or training constantly challenge this equilibrium often exceeding the body’s capacity to cope. A good supply of blood is vital and contains all the ingredients needed for growth, repair and nutrition. The pumping effect of certain massage techniques will stimulate the blood flow aiding the elimination of waste materials that arise from energy production, tissue damage and inflammation. General circulatory stimulation can help improve the health and recovery of most systems of the body.

SPORTS (DEEP TISSUE) MASSAGE

Sports massage by definition addresses soft tissue also known as muscular tissue or muscle; this includes the first layer of all muscle tissue called the myo-fascia. The sports massage process helps the breakdown of adhesion and scar tissue and instantly and dramatically improves blood circulation. A good sport massage will not only enhance recovery from every day hectic life styles and exercise activities but subsequently enhance relaxation and performance for an optimal life. The deeper muscular tissue experience.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE (now available in and outdoors)

Based on Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga from India, a complete Thai massage incorporates a traditional combination of acupressure, energy meridian work, and yoga like stretching. Thai yoga massage is considered energy-work rather then body work, although the yogic postures have a great ability to improve flexibility and strength. One of Thai yoga massage’s many benefits is that it stimulates the body’s natural healing process, thus it can be a great and powerful addition to any other form of body work treatment and holistic approach to healing.

THE HUMAN BODY AND COVID-19
The ripple effect of COVID-19 and lockdown is been felt in the living tissue at many levels, where many factors are at play challenging our adaptability:

  • A massive change in the way we interact with one another

  • A new kind of stress, alien to us both in its effect and response

  • An imposed & abnormal restriction on our usual way of life

  • An intense demand on our capacity to adapt both, mentally and physically

  • A change and shift in our coping mechanism

  • A change in our working conditions to some extend affecting our living environment

  • A change in our exercise regime

  • A change of dynamics with a deficit in energy & stress output versus their storage capacities

As a soft-tissue specialist, I have felt since going back to practice a shift and change in the energy exchange between my client and me.

Both during and post treatment, the need to receive, feel but also to resource is much greater and different to post-lockdown.

It is clear, we are all yearning to restore balance and equilibrium.

I strongly believe soft-tissue therapy with the return to the touch, can help our healing process, it is after all the first sense we develop as human being.
